Last week was momentous for @PiedmontHealth as we enrolled the first patient in the southeast US in the NIH supported PIVATAL trial. #AblateVT during LVAD implant. The collaboration/partnership between CT surgery, EP and HF at Piedmont Heart Institute remains unrivaled! #epeeps

Hard to believe our tiny transplant program went from an MPSC review to the largest program in Georgia in just 3 years. So proud to work with tremendous surgeons, Sagar Damle and @ZekeMolinaMD , and an amazing team @rsingh46143 @rsloungani Ben DeMoss, Arun Krishnamoorthy

Performed the first #Optrell VT RFA in a fresh LVAD a little while ago. First in the southeast USA. Here are some tips and tricks to avoid EMI with HeartMate3. @DrSGoyal_EP @deering_f @SagarDamle @ZekeMolinaMD @DoctorRTC @rsloungani @rsingh46143

With a quarter million views and 6 likes (some of which are from @ABIM employees) this takes the award for the most emotionally tone deaf tweet I have ever seen. Physicians are citing #MOC as a major contributor to burnout, & you have the audacity to promote doing MOC while on vacation? Are you just trying to troll us and taunt us now? Did you hire someone from the Onion to do your marketing? Join over 4,700 physicians in the petition to end #MOC change.org/p/eliminate-abims…

Do I have this right? - ABIM requires yearly fees from physicians who are already cert to “maintain certification” - no evidence that MOC helps pt care - ABIM will report you as “not certified” if you don’t pay - hospitals require certification Idk kinda sounds like extortion
Nope. Not happening until I find out what this gets me , @ABIMFoundation. ⁩ What are we paying for? I’m certified…I took my boards and passed them.

The greatest threat to our environment may very well be the towering stacks of home health paper orders. @mpsotka @yaleHFdoc @DrNasrien @robmentz @rsingh46143 @rsloungani

What we can say about IABP is that it does not reduce mortality from shock following AMI. If you haven’t realized that different cardiogenic shock etiologies are different (including response to therapies) then you need to start rounding in the CCU
There's lots of discussion in cardiology that counterpulsation with IABP "don't work." "Dont work" is often ill-defined in discussions.

Tell me your state ACC chapter is pushing a partisan, conservative political agenda without telling me your state ACC chapter is pushing a partisan, conservative agenda…@drdevireddy @amorrismd @DrNasrien @ACCinTouch @yaleHFdoc @mpsotka @akobylivker
Honored to be named “Legislator of the Year” by @ACCinTouch– but disappointed by those who are trying to cancel that award because I’m standing up for our elections. @MLB learned the hard way that the woke mob is a loud but small minority- others should learn from the example.

Always so relieved when my patient’s CRTD is referred to as “in situ” in progress notes. You never know when you’re gonna walk in and the device is ex situ and a bloody mess on the floor. @mpsotka @yaleHFdoc @DrNasrien @robmentz @RyanTedfordMD @rsloungani @rsingh46143

One of the most devastating ways sepsis affects heart failure is having people prescribe “goal directed medical therapy” instead of guideline directed medical therapy” & i can’t get over it. @mpsotka @DrNasrien @yaleHFdoc @ShashankSinhaMD @_lbcooper @mfiuzat @robmentz @DukeHFDoc

Proposal inspired by @yaleHFdoc: any speaker discussing treatment recommendations or clinical decision making MUST disclose the amount of time she/he spends in clinic and on inpatient services @DrNasrien @ShashankSinhaMD @mpsotka @rsingh46143 @rsloungani

Well this would be fascinating
A significant % of clinical research papers are clearly written by people who spend little to no time seeing patients. As a result, the papers feel dissociated from reality. Should "time spent on direct patient care" be included in disclosure statements?
