Twas the night before training and all thru the camp,
None of the dogs were barking, not even the scamps.
The leashes were hung by all the kennels with care,
In the hopes that St Kristi would soon make an appearance right here.
The dogs were all nestled, very snug in their beds,
With dreams of new tricks & treats dancing in their heads.
And I in my hoodie, toys and treats by my side,
Had just settled down for a training night inside.
When out in the training yard there arose such a clatter.
I sprang from my seat to see what was the matter.
Away to the window, I flew like a flash,
Tore open the blinds and threw up the sash
The moon on the artificial grass, with its silvery light,
Gave a shimmer, oh, what a sight!
When what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a sleigh full of puppies, bringing good cheer!
What a jolly old handler, so lively and spry,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Kristi appearing in the sky
More rapid than eagles her commands they did come
As she whistled and shouted and called the the trainers by name!
Hurry Wesley, Jordyn, September, and Keegan get to the premiss
Now to me Hailey, Hayden, Randall and Chris
On Brittany, Carrie, Alexis, Jackie and Kimber
The moonlight on the training yard currently does glimmer
On Griffen, Chris D, Mitchell and Jade
Now Adam, Riley, and Claudia don’t fade
And there is also the veterinarian Dr. Brown
Along with Wesley and KatyBeth who live out of town
And of course there’s Nico the IT Person
Who ensures that problems with the website do not worsen
Lets all begin working with the pups
Practicing all commands including backups
Execute a sit! Now stay, Now rollover and Play!
Now Jump, Now Fetch lets train through the day!
To the top of the class! Let’s work our best!
Now Dash away, Dash away, lets pass every test!
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So up to the challenge, the dogs they all flew,
With their tails wagging proudly, they knew what to do!
And then I heard a twinkle on the floor
As eager paws pranced, wanting more
As I drew in my breath, and was turning around,
Down the chimney St. Kristi did go with a bound
She was dressed all in fur, from her head to her toes
And her coat was filled with toys, treats, and bowls
A bundle of goodies she had flung on her back,
And she looked like a master trainer, just ready to act.
Her eyes how they sparkled, Her training tools how bright!
Her cheeks were like roses, her voice crackled with delight!
She had an old leather leash and a friendly old grin,
And she twinkled with joy as the training did begin
She spoke not a word, but went straight to her work
And taught the trainers and pups with a wink and smirk
They practiced their sits and they practiced their stays,
With each wag of their tails they were eager to learn and play
Then she sprang to the yard, the dogs they gave a bark.
And away they all raced, like a shot in the park,
I heard her exclaim as she dashed out of sight
“Happy training to all, and to all a good night!”
So remember this tale as you gather and train,
With your furry companions it is never in vain,
For the night before Christmas, with pups by your side,
Is a magical time filled with joy and pride
With each wag and each bark, love fills the air,
At our dog training campus where we all show that we care.
So gather your leashes, your treats and toys
And let’s celebrate together with all of your joys!
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
