This morning, around 2:20 AM, a new #Kilauea eruption began within Kaluapele (the summit caldera). It was caught on camera by #HVO's B2cam. Images taken by the webcam were compiled into this timelapse video that shows lava fountains feeding lava flows across the caldera floor.

"Wie lange sich die strafrechtlichen Ermittlungen ziehen werden, ist derzeit noch unklar." Je länger sich die Ermittlungen hinziehen, desto eher hat der Bürger und Wähler den Skandal von Gablingen wieder vergessen. Die Vorfälle sind ja jetzt schon wieder aus den Schlagzeilen.

So, we published a paper in @PNASNews critiquing the recent paper by Wright et al. who claimed seismic detection of water on Mars - long story short, their geophysical comparisons are based on rocks that won't exist at depth! @OxUniEarthSci @CrustalEvo pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.24…

📣New paper out!🔔 We quantify deep/viscous subduction interface rheology by integrating field observations, numerical models, and experimental flow laws. This provides us new insights into viscosity and strength variations along subduction zones. 1/3 researchgate.net/publication…

Todays was the "Spatenstich" for the new building of @LMU_Muenchen that will eventually unite everyone of the Department for Earth and Environmental Sciences under one roof. Talked about for decades, in planning since many years, now it's happening! 👏 lmu.de/en/newsroom/news-over…

academia is so brutal to ECRs. my current job ends this month & my email is vanishing that same day, which is causing havoc with the journal portals where Ive got articles submitted / accepted / in production. mayb Im naive, but is it rlly that hard to give us a few months grace?
