One of many highlights from Science Week on the Sarantaporos River - a major tributary of the Aoos/Vjosa system - was seeing my first ever eels. Eels that had drifted from the Sargasso Sea before slipping upstream through Albania and Greece on rivers still free-flowing and wild.
