June 14, 1917: Sound engineer John William Mitchell is born in Wakefield, Yorkshire, UK. He worked on over 100 films, famously taping a mic in Marilyn Monroe's decolletage for "Prince & The Showgirl" (1957). He also recorded for 6 Bond films (including the 1967 "Casino Royale").
June 14, 1923: British naval officer Captain Sir Mansfield George Smith-Cumming dies in London, UK. He was the first chief of the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS) & the inspiration for Fleming's character "M," who also bears his first initial.
June 14, 2014: Stuntman & actor Terry Richards dies at 81 in Ruislip, UK. While perhaps best know as the scimitar wielding guard in "Raiders of the Lost Ark " (1981) he was also in 9 Bond films with 5 separate Bonds (including David Niven in the 1967 "Casino Royale").

June 13, 1982: Wrestler & actor Peter Fanene Maria dies at 45 in
Honolulu, HI. He was Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's adopted grandfather, a blood brother of the Anoaʻi family, a promoter of Polynesian Pro Wrestling & also played the Dodge driver in "You Only Live Twice" (1967).
June 13, 2010: Singer, TV host, actor, businessman & philanthropist Jimmy Dean dies at 81 in Varina, VA. While best remembered for his sausage brand ("That's the Jimmy Dean Way!") he is beloved by Bond fans as reclusive millionaire Willard Whyte in "Diamonds Are Forever" (1971).
June 13, 1989: Eon's 16th Bond film "Licence to Kill" premiers at the Odeon Leicester Square in London, raising £200k (£529,193 in 2025 pounds) for The Prince's Trust. It was to be Dalton's final outing as Bond. Cuts had to made to prevent higher US & UK ratings due to violence.
June 12, 1964: Actor Paul Carpenter dies at 42 during rehearsals for the play "The 1st Fish" at the Vaudeville Theatre in London, England, shortly after being involved in a car accident. His final role was as the American General escorting James Bond in "Goldfinger" (1964).
June 12, 1914: Actor William Paul Lundigan is born in Syracuse, NY. He started in "Dodge City" (1939), "The Sea Hawk" (1940), "Santa Fe Trail" (1940), "Love Nest" (1951) & "The House on Telegraph Hill" (1951) & also hosted CBS's "Climax!" version of "Casino Royale" (1954).
June 12, 1967: The 5th Eon Bond film premiers at the Odeon Leicester Square in London, with Queen Elizabeth II in attendance. It featured a script by Roald Dahl & was the first to veer dramatically away from Fleming's original books. It was the #1 film in the US for 7 weeks.
June 12, 1927: Australian cartoonist Yaroslav Horak (of Czech/Russian parentage) is born in Harbin, Manchuria, Republic of China. He illustrated a total of 33 James Bond comic strip sequences in the Daily Express from 1966 to 1977, adapting several of Fleming's original stories.
June 11, 1920: Actor Robert Bruce Winne aka Robert Hutton is born in Kingston, NY. He was in "Cry of the Banshee" (1970), "The Persuaders!" (1972) & "Tales from the Crypt" (1972) & also played the US President's military aide in "You Only Live Twice" (1967).
June 11, 1932: Actor Ed Bishop is born in Brooklyn, NY. He played Cmdr. Straker in the TV series "UFO," voiced Philip Marlowe for the BBC Radio's Marlowe series & also played the Hawaii CapCom in "You Only Live Twice" (1967) & Klaus Hergersheimer in "Diamonds Are Forever" (1971)
June 11, 1955: Actor Alejandro Bracho is born in Mexico City, Mexico. He appeared as the villain Emilio Uriarte in the telenovela "Los Sanchez" & Fernandez in "A Clear & Present Danger" (1994) & also as Sanchez Cartel enforcer Perez in "License To Kill" (1989).
June 10, 1912: Actor Hugo de Vernier is born in Paris, France. As well as playing the French Major alongside fellow Bond alum Telly Savalas in "Kelly's Heroes" (1970) he also played the Istanbul Hotel porter in "From Russia With Love (1963).
June 10 2000: Actor, stuntman & BASE jumper Terry Forrestal dies at 52 in a jumping accident in Lysefjord, Norway. He was in 7 Bond films spanning Roger Moore to Pierce Brosnan in the title role as well as in the non-Eon "Never Say Never Again" (1983).

10 June 1926: Actor Gabor Baraker is born in Budapest, Hungary. As a teen he was forced into a Nazi work camp to build railroad tracks, which he later blew up when he & 32 others escaped for Budapest. He later appeared as Spectre #13 in "Thunderball" (1965).
June 10, 2006: Actor Gerald James dies at 88 in Oxfordshire, UK. He appeared in several TV series including "The Sandbaggers," "The Professionals," "Secret Army" & "Sapphire & Steel" & also played solar energy specialist Prof. Frazier in "The Man With The Golden Gun" (1974).
June 10, 1937: Actress Luciana Paluzzi is born in Rome, Italy. She originally auditioned for the role of Domino in "Thunderball" (1965) but was instead cast as Fiona, whose last name was changed from Kelly to Volpe to fit Paluzzi's Italian background.
