Floyd Norman will receive an honorary Oscar.
He was the first black animator at Disney and had a 65-year run at the studio working on films such as ‘Sleeping Beauty’, ‘The Jungle Book’, ‘Mulan’ and ‘Toy Story 2’.

Floyd Norman rocks!
The Academy has announced that it will award Floyd Norman an Honorary Academy Award. Given his important status in animation which includes being the first African American animator to work at Disney and the many films he helped work on, this is such a well deserved honor!

This reminds me of how the opening of the cartoon special "Donald Duck's 50 Crazy Years" features an uncannily smooth animation of Donald transitioning from his early design (based on "The Wise Little Hen") to his modern one.
