On Thursday Sept. 9, 2021 Community Relations Officer Tonda Rawls-Owens represented DPSCD-PD in Lansing, MI at a 9/11 ceremony. Officer Owens stood with State Representatives from all over the State of Michigan in remembrance of those who lost their lives 20yrs ago on 9/11.

Police Officer Amir Kegler spoke with Emerson School students about Compassion, a character trait word for the month of April 2021. Officer Kegler used the George Floyd incident as an example on how we can all be more compassionate when dealing with others.

The DPSCD Police Department and members of Peoples United Methodist Church, located at 19370 Greenfield Rd, sponsored a family of 7 children whose mother was murdered back in March 2021. Four of the children are DPSCD students, DPSCD Police Department care about their wellbeing.
