The biggest difference in #coaching now and coaching 20 years ago is what I call the "transfer of motivation". It used to be that the #coach's motivation was the driving force behind the training environment - now - it's the coach's ability to understand the #motivation of each indvidual athlete and to create an engaging, enjoyable,effective training environment which provides each athlete with the opportunity to realize their potential and fulfil their unique motivation.
