The key to saving the environment is not looking backward, it’s moving forward. I realized this the first time I visited Italy twenty years ago. Everything was clean and green. The rivers sparkled. The lesson for me was obvious: the answer is not underdevelopment. The answer is progress. When China was poor, the air was so polluted that people could barely see the blue sky. Today, blue skies have returned to their cities. Development does not only create wealth, it also provides the resources needed to restore and protect the environment. Some environmentalists want us to preserve every aspect of our biodiversity, including the mosquitoes for example, so that researchers can fly in once every ten years from their universities (which build particle accelerators and billion-dollar laboratories with their pocket money), study our ecosystems, and count how many people died from dengue outbreaks. They want to buy our air through carbon credits. If carbon credits were such a great deal, they would be selling them to us, not the other way around. Cleaning every river, lake, and water source in El Salvador, and ensuring they remain clean and sparkling, would cost roughly $12 billion. Where is that money supposed to come from without economic development? Carbon credits? The path forward for our country is the path of Japan and Singapore, not the path of the Congo.

These procedural mechanisms are well known and used on a daily basis by judicial authorities around the world. The allegations underlying today’s raid are baseless and X categorically denies any wrongdoing. Today’s staged raid reinforces our conviction that this investigation distorts French law, circumvents due process, and endangers free speech. X is committed to defending its fundamental rights and the rights of its users. What was once the promise of the free exchange of information is being turned into the ultimate tool of control. Once-free countries are introducing dystopian measures such as digital IDs (UK), online age checks (Australia), and mass scanning of private messages (EU). Germany is persecuting anyone who dares to criticize officials on the Internet. The UK is imprisoning thousands for their tweets. France is criminally investigating tech leaders who defend freedom and privacy. A dark, dystopian world is approaching fast — while we’re asleep. Our generation risks going down in history as the last one that had freedoms — and allowed them to be taken away. We’ve been fed a lie. We’ve been made to believe that the greatest fight of our generation is to destroy everything our forefathers left us: tradition, privacy, sovereignty, the free market, and free speech. By betraying the legacy of our ancestors, we’ve set ourselves on a path toward self-destruction — moral, intellectual, economic, and ultimately biological. So no, I’m not going to celebrate today. Chega: O Terceiro Partido Socialista O partido Chega adora apresentar-se como o bastião da "direita” – vá-se lá saber o que é isso?! – e do "contrapoder", mas na prática, revela-se apenas como o terceiro partido socialista do regime. Sim, porque depois do PS1 e do PS2, temos agora o Chega, o PS3, a disputar o título de campeão do intervencionismo estatal. Berram contra o "socialismo", mas foram rápidos a votar a favor da nacionalização da TAP. Afinal, não há nada mais "liberal" do que despejar milhões dos assaltados numa companhia falida, certo? Socializar prejuízos e proteger incompetentes é o verdadeiro caminho para a liberdade, segundo a nova cartilha do Chega. Mas não se ficaram por aqui. Defendem um Estado policial reforçado, com mais agentes, mais armas e mais controlo. Livre porte de arma? Nem pensar, só para os bandidos oficiais. Parece que o Chega não quer apenas uma TAP nacionalizada — querem também que cada português tenha um agente do Estado na sala de estar, a garantir que todos seguem as "boas maneiras". E não nos esqueçamos do brilhante plano económico do partido: dizem que querem reduzir impostos e aumentar os gastos públicos ao mesmo tempo. Um truque digno dos melhores ilusionistas socialistas. E o que dizer da sua visão paternalista sobre como as pessoas devem gastar o seu dinheiro? Quando o governo “devolveu” 100 euros anteriormente assaltados aos portugueses, o Chega indignou-se e quis ditar que esse valor não podia ser gasto em “putas e vinho verde”. Porque, claro, nada mais "liberal" do que o Estado mandar nas escolhas individuais. Por este caminho, devem seguramente apoiar a Sr.ª Lagarde, que anda a sonhar com um Euro Digital para transformar o sistema financeiro num verdadeiro Big Brother financeiro — onde as "virtudes estatistas" serão recompensadas e qualquer comportamento considerado "desviante" será punido. Quem sabe, talvez o Chega proponha um cartão do cidadão com códigos de conduta moral embutidos, para que cada euro gasto seja previamente aprovado pelos seus arautos da moralidade. No final, o Chega revela-se como aquilo que realmente é: um PS vestido de "revolucionário", um PSD mascarado de "anti-sistema". No palco berram "liberdade", mas nos bastidores só sabem rezar pela expansão do Estado. O Chega já tem pedófilos, já tem falsos heterossexuais, já tem ladrões de malas, por conseguinte, já atingiu a maioridade. Seguramente, já está preparado para governar, tal como os dois partidos socialistas.
