Chuzhali nair/kaimal , nerpatu kaimal/nair was the only son of last chera perumal. Both sons recieved same amount of army of nairs same as maha samantan nairs of chera perumal. Chuzhali kaimal nair got adopted into kolathiri who were Nambiar Nairs that merged with mushika velirs

Nairs held the responsibility of managing temple administration. They were designated with various titles depending on the historical period. Thiruvattar Adikesava Temple a shrine for the Ay and later Venad kings—which was managed and administered by the Nair community.

There are five families of Mannadiars which are Nairs. They were Chola migrants from Tamil Nadu and were Kshatriya. Just like how Cholas married Vellalas, Mannadiars also married Vellala women. Post 19th century, children of these products up took the Mannadiar title.

Nairs are not referred to as shudras in any of the Chera inscriptions. Instead, they are identified by their administrative titles in the inscriptions. Role of the nairs of Chera polity: military governors, temple guardians, and enforcers of royal decrees.
