Braxtyn Smith, 10, lived with his mother Jem Bean, father Joshua Smith, and grandmother Mistie Latourette. The family used zip ties to secure him in a chair, starved him, and tortured him until he died of head trauma. The mother Jem Bean pleaded guilty to manslaughter earlier this year. The father Joshua Smith pleaded guilty to murder. The grandmother Mistie Latourette just took a sweetheart deal for manslaughter that drops murder charges and caps her sentence at 30 years instead of life in prison. Court heard the horrific details of the abuse inflicted on the child by his own family. Another monster family exposed for destroying their own flesh and blood. How do parents and a grandmother use zip ties and torture to kill a 10-year-old and still walk away with deals that let them see daylight again?

The streets were packed with roaring fans celebrating the big win when a large brawl suddenly broke out in the crowd. Seconds later, shots rang out, striking the teen amid the chaos.
