Wotc sent us this and im so baffled. They somehow think LGS need a costco level shelf for this set. Just give us buy a box promos and better play programs. You have completely lost the plot on LGS. They spent hundreds of dollars on this its going straight in the trash.

Its supposed to be a cardboard thing so people can get it and bring it to the cashier and get a box instead of just pointing to the shelf. How many lgs in the world are big enough to even consider that? 5? 10?

While I massively agree WotC bungled the messaging/branding on the Arena Limited Champs, I still worry gravely that all the community backlash will not lead to the desired result of added support for the event itself, but rather they just stop running the ALCQs.

Every arena qualifier we get gems for making it and then the AC is 250k. This round of qualifier we got 1k or 2k. Apparently im the only one on the internet who thought there would be no prizing at the 2nd step. They were gonna pay for this paper "PT" one of 2 ways. 1/2

Either they were going to fund it with entries from the online qualifier paper ones or they were going to cut one of the PTs from 2027. Wotc never adds $ to the overall prize pool and i guess ive accepted that more than most.

So I have always used the money I get from TCG events to travel and play in more events. Mtg events payouts are so low compared to One Piece that I’m considering playing OP again to fund my Mtg events. For context I have played only 2 competitive Mtg events (RC) Top 16 one and Top 8 the other.l and I don’t have enough cash for my next event which is ProTour Amsterdam. Attending ProTour Amsterdam is going to cost me more than 3k and the level of competition is insanely high, at this point I’m it for the sake of the plot. So yeah, back to One Piece I guess??

I have not been playing a ton of Arena Directs (honestly not crushing them when i have) and im glad they exist but at this point im trying to figure out how many events are they going to have boxes pending before they start sending them out.
