Pretty cool... on my Emirates flight from Hong Kong to Dubai (flying onward to Orlando), we have @elonmusk's Skylink satellite internet service... I've been flying internationally (from Asia to the U.S.) for over 20yrs, and this is the fastest internet service I've ever had (and yes, I'm watching Sean Connery as James Bond in "GoldFinger"). Btw: I'm guessing lots of people are afraid to fly to Dubai; the HK-Dubai flight is the emptiest of ever been on; Business Class is not even 30% full... #airtravel

I will soon be heading back to my Florida home for annual home leave, but I'm also planning for a move to a new Hong Kong apartment in August. Reason for moving? My Australian landlord has to sell the apartment to financially take care of his elderly father... I'm moving from Sai Ying Pun back to Wanchai (where I first lived when first coming to HK in 2019). My new apartment building is in a more "lively area" off of Hennessy Road; I even have a "Five Guys" around the corner. Taxis and the MTR (subway) are close by... The apartment is on the first floor in a nicer, more modern luxury building with a bigger bedroom, bathroom, and refrigerator (!)... AND I even have an outdoor courtyard. Yes, Hong Kong Island apartments are small, it's a big city on a smallish island - Hong Kong has among the highest real estate costs in the world (although food is cheap because of the proximity of Mainland China)... But US$3,000/ month for my new apartment; I'm paying US$3,500 for my current apartment, so I'm saving money! (Photos of the apartment - currently, an American couple who are going back to the States after 10 yrs living in the apartment. They're going back to Ohio so the husband can complete his PhD. They love the apartment) I'm happy to have found it; and can leave for the U.S. on Wednesday with one less thing to be concerned about! #HongKong

Propaganda from @codepink: The U.S. consulate was attacked by a group of radical Muslims. Obviously, the Pakistani government has given the U.S. full authority to use deadly force against this type of attack. Granted, the consulate is sovereignly U.S. territory, but they have pretty good relations with the Pakistani government and probably held security discussions after the Iranian attacks began... As someone who has worked in Pakistan for over 20 years (my charitable NGO has a national office in Lahore), Karachi has always had a little reputation for being the "Wild Wild West": Islamic extremists - groups and political parties - have a big presence there. I remember back in June 2002, the U.S. consulate was attacked with a car bomb: Westerners left the city and country, but I flew into Karachi from Singapore (where I lived) for a planned business trip. I had Pakistan Rangers (a paramilitary federal law enforcement force, that gave me an armed escort convoy around the city) and Christian militia men - body guards- protecting me: I was crazy to go on the trip; I'm older and wiser now. Although, I was smart enough not to stay at the (American) Marriott Hotel. I stayed at the Pakistani-owned, 5-star hotel, The Avari Tower.
US Marines shot and killed at least 12 people in Karachi, Pakistan. More than 30 are injured. Where is the international outrage over these US soldiers slaughtering Pakistani protestors?

It’s the first use of the FACE ACT to protect religious freedom with a criminal statute meant to punish those who interfere. Historic.
I have never seen the AG (ever) & DOJ leadership only put their name on an indictment. Very telling.

It’s sad how many people buy into Don Lemon’s misleading use of the First Amendment’s reference to the press. The framers literally meant the printing press, establishing the right to disseminate information to a wide audience. It does not grant self-proclaimed journalists special legal status. In fact, everyone has the same individual right to express themselves, so Don Lemon’s framing is backwards. The First Amendment does not elevate “journalists” above the public. It collapses the distinction.

This is a very important point. Yes, the Trump administration brought the charges, but a federal grand jury in a BLUE STATE (Minnesota) indicted him. He must be held accountable. You cannot lead mobs into churches & attempt to intimidate Christians while they are worshipping!
🚨 Any “news” outlet failing to make clear in their headline that Don Lemon was indicted by a federal grand jury is intentionally misleading the public. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

There is no "Right" in the First Amendment to "Cover" anything. There is a "Right" to publish any information you can obtain. But you can't obtain information in violation of federal law and use the 1A as a shield for your criminal conduct.
Don Lemon is a journalist and has the right to cover the undeniably important news events in Minneapolis. Arresting him will not silence criticism of the federal government. Free Don Lemon.

Right this is what's missing in all the journalists who are getting the vapors over Don Lemon. Not a single one of them is actually citing the footage. Not one. And they know exactly why.

We are on it @CivilRights, working with the USAO in Minneapolis. This is un-American and outrageous.
Shocking footage from Cities Church in Minneapolis this morning (an SBC church) where an anti-ICE mob stormed the service and disrupted their worship, alleging one of the church’s lead pastors is an ICE agent.

I haven't seen this horrific story in X yet: A high-rise residential building in Tai Po, Hong Kong (outer islands near the China border) went up in flames due to the bamboo scaffolding catching fire (the antiquated bamboo scaffolding is still used by construction companies - in use for 150 years): So far, 94 deaths; the majority are elderly residents. apnews.com/article/hong-kong…

Most iconic photo of the Tai Po, Hong Kong high rise fire by Reuters... It's a dramatic photo, and I believe an instant Pulitzer Prize contender.

Yes, I do use a VPN while overseas in Hong Kong because you never know what snoops are watching... especially when I go into Mainland China (I have a Dual SIM card - including T-Mobile that has free international data roaming, even in China). But on my profile, it makes it clear: Hong Kong and Florida based (my X verification annually paid through a U.S. credit card tied to my Florida home).
