📘𝐋𝐎𝐍𝐆 𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐆…. ↓↓ Firstly, it was great to see @DublinLadiesG lift the Brendan Martin Cup in Croke Park today, so I thank Mick and the girls for providing the perfect Twitter send off. Big thanks to @CahillJackie & @LadiesFootball for giving me the opportunity to be there today and for always looking after me whenever I asked. We’ve been blessed in the last 12yrs with all the brilliant days that our Minor, U21 & Senior lads and ladies have given us. So thank you to all those players and managers who made those days happen. I’m sure I was a pain sometimes with questions and clarifications re fixtures etc, but thanks to the stewards and staff of @DubGAAOfficial who were always very good to me in Parnell Park. Thanks to @DerekRyan, @MossyQuinn and especially 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 who allowed me to cover games for everyone during COVID times and to 𝐅𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 who answered 10yrs worth of queries. To all the clubs and colleges who trusted me with pre game team info to prep in advance of games and to all those club officials and members / players who sent me results over the years. The service would not have been what it was without you! 👏🏻 To @RnnMacLochlainn, @dubsgerire & @BryanDaly83 who assisted me with games that clashed or covered games when I was out of the country…. Your help was greatly appreciated, lads 👍🏼 To @KarlMonaghan and later, @DermDaly of @Tapadoo who gave up hours of his own time to build me an iPhone App that catered for all my needs and allowed me track games as best I could. Thanks, lads. I’d have been lost without your help and expertise! 📱 To @Sportsfile, especially @SportsfileRay & @PiarasPOM who provided hundreds of images and prizes along the way to help tell the story of games won and lost. Much appreciated, Brian! 👍🏼 I have no doubt I’m forgetting some people as I type here, but thanks to everyone who followed, interacted, slagged, jeered and corrected me over the years. I got to meet and know a lot of great people through DMT with some great days and laughs along the way. And to all those who insisted you had to @BuyMeACoffee before I finished up, there really was no need, but the gesture was very much appreciated! But the last and BIGGEST thank you of all has to go to Mrs. DMT…. @elainemcryan I have covered 1,000 games in the last 12yrs, disappearing for days and weekends at a time as well as spending hours and hours prepping for stuff at home while she ran a household, did drop offs, pickups and looked after 2 little ones…..and never would she give out or moan! And so for that I thank her…..and the moral of the story is….always marry a girl who played County….they just get the GAA thing! 😁 I’d like to say I’ll see you all in Croke Park, but I’d imagine I’ll take a good long break from both Club & County now and probably won’t be back in HQ until @Coldplay arrive next August. If you told me after the lads lost the semi-final to Cork in 2010 that I’d be covering Dublin games for the next 12yrs and we would win 9 Senior All-Irelands including 6 in-a-row, I’d have called the men in white coats for you. It’s been some journey though.
