Our Indiana crews, along with teams from Duke Energy in Ohio and Kentucky, continue to work quickly and safely to restore power to our remaining 7,000 customers who are experiencing outages due to last night's storms. We are reaching out directly to affected customers with estimated times of restoration.

Thursday night’s high winds hit our northern #Indiana service area particularly hard, bringing down trees and damaging power lines and poles. Nearly 40,000 customers were affected by outages. Crews have restored service to more than 27,000 with about 11,000 out of service as of late this morning, primarily in the Lafayette and Kokomo regions (photo below is from Howard County). To speed power restoration, we have moved crews from areas less affected in the state, brought in contractors to supplement our local force, and mobilized additional support from our Ohio/Kentucky operations. Please avoid any downed power lines, assume they are energized, and report them to us at 800-343-3525. We appreciate our customers' patience as we work as quickly and safely as possible to restore power.

Duke Energy representatives were on hand at the Food Finders Fresh Market food pantry in #Lafayette today to talk with customers about our many energy- and money-savings programs. In addition to this direct customer outreach at the pantry, the Duke Energy Foundation has regularly supported the nonprofit with shareholder-funded grants to buy meat, dairy and produce.
