Canadian North's new baggage fees come into effect today. The airline wouldn't answer questions in an interview, and a spokesperson suggested I look into other airlines too.

It’s an honour to receive these nominations but it’s honestly an even bigger honour to have been trusted to tell Terry Uyarak’s story, so a big Qujannamiik to him, to my wonderful editor Abi Hayward and to everyone else who made this story possible.
I’d also like to thank @CanGeo for agreeing to and finding a way to publish this story in Inuktitut (a publication first!) so that everyone, whether they live in the south or north, can read. Qujannamiik! canadiangeographic.ca/articl…

📷 (Clockwise starting from the top left): @DustinPatar, Matt Horseman, @guillaumenolet, @sarahyltonphoto.
What a tremendous honour to be nominated alongside so many super talented journalists. Like so much journalism, I wish this story (especially this climate change category) wasn’t necessary. That said, it was a real privilege to be able to help tell it.
A huge thank you to my wonderful editor Abi Hayward for all of her help and patience with this one and to Derek Mueller of @wirlcarleton for having me along on this trip to the top of the world.
Yay! Congrats to two past mentees of our @RoomUpFront on their nominations in the @caj awards. @katkycheng in the photojournalism category for work in @thenarwhalca and @aaron_hemens in Truth and Reconciliation category for work at @IndigiNewsMedia.
this is so incredibly frustrating— after the federal government denounced Bell Media for laying off workers, then let the funding for their own public journalism program lapse without any explanation
