DISCLOSURE DAY 100% felt like a summer blockbuster to me, only smarter and more thoughtful than most.
Spielberg's DISCLOSURE DAY is more of a Fall Flick than a Summer Blockbuster. And its grosses will likely reflect that in weeks to come.

Can we just step back and realize how messed up it is to put your name on someone's memorial in the first place???

This is honestly getting ridiculous. Like, in the best of ways. Legendary run for OBSESSION. FIFTH WEEKEND is HIGHER THAN THE FIRST WEEKEND. This simply does not happen. Will be a long while before it happens again!
You people are f*cking obsessed! OBSESSION is on track for another $20M weekend in its 5th week of release—$190M total. Curb-smashing the box office. Again.

Imagine watching DISCLOSURE DAY and coming away thinking ā€œnothing really happened.ā€
Disclosure Day was not good. For a movie that was two and a half hours, nothing really happened during it. I kept waiting for a payoff and bupkis. I’m bummed cause I was hoping this was gonna be Spielberg’s comeback

Now here’s a plot twist! The guy who Lynda mistakenly thought was driving the car in HALLOWEEN grew up to become a big television executive AND a friend of Leah Rimini. Make Haddonfield proud, Devon Graham!
So proud of my friend Devon Graham who was just promoted to head of nonfiction! Devon was the executive at A&E who oversaw our documentary series, Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath. Had it not been for Devon truly listening to us and, more importantly, to the victims and survivors who trusted us with their stories, it would have been a very different series. She understood that our responsibility was not to chase headlines or sensationalize people’s experiences: it was to tell their stories truthfully, accurately, and with compassion. She would fly 3,000 miles to sit in the editing bay with me and Mike Rinder, because she knew how much getting it right mattered to us. She spent countless hours listening to us explain what was important, and she also took the time to listen to the brave contributors who shared their stories. She understood how important it was that we honor those experiences, and make sure those stories were told with care and integrity. She didn’t have to do that. It wasn’t really part of her job. Her job was to oversee the series and make sure we delivered the show. But she went far beyond that, over and over again, for three seasons. Devon is that rare executive who deeply cares about the work, the people behind it, and the responsibility that comes with telling difficult and important stories. She never lost sight of the human beings at the center of those stories. She was not only a friend to the many brave contributors who shared their experiences on The Aftermath, she also became one of my dearest friends. Sony, you got a good one. Congratulations, my friend. Mike would agree, this is so incredibly well deserved.

I thought the exact same thing.
the opening shot of Disclosure Day is so totally disorienting that for the briefest of moments I wondered whether I’d walked into the wrong screening. Incredible

Who could have ever imagined that the new film from the director of PIG would be a slow burn?
Looks like soft reviews for #TheDeathofRobinHood. It's a beautifully shot and acted film, but a very slow burn. It's dour, brutal, and caked in mud and grime. Not a moment of joy within. It's got very low commercial value and not expecting much of any grosses from it next week.

A Pixar cat movie named GATTO?! I’ve never been more sat.

Led by a marvel of a performance from Emily Blunt, Steven Spielberg’s DISCLOSURE DAY is a thoughtful, refreshingly grown-up summer blockbuster of nearly faultless tech credits and crucial empathetic heart. The evocative finale reaches a crescendo of that old Spielbergian magic.

What I’ve been saying for 40 years: It was really Cameron’s Day Off. Ferris was saving his friend. Also: Ferris and Sloane were one of the great romances of the 1980s.

Sharing this so that others believe it was written. DISCLOSURE DAY ā€œneeds…a different director.ā€ The director in question, dear friends, is STEVEN SPIELBERG.
I saw DISCLOSURE DAY. It's okay. It needs a better script and a different director. Most of the film is dual chase with the interesting bits pushed to the sides.

Two upcoming films I can’t wait to see. I WANT YOUR SEX, directed by Gregg Araki and starring Cooper Hoffman, who automatically ensure it’s a must-see, and WHALEFALL, based on a truly visionary novel.

Okay, as utterly thrilled as I am about the ROMY AND MICHELE 2 announcement, @20thcentury would be foolish not to release this in theaters. The fanbase for this film is VOLUMINOUS. Release straight to @hulu and you’re leaving millions upon millions on the table.
