As teams from all over the world arrive in the United States, Mexico & Canada, anticipation is building for the 2026 World Cup. For practitioners involved with each of the 48 teams, this is key preparation time. Within this World Cup however, there is a little more to consider than usual. From afternoon kick-offs in 30°, to competing at over 2,200m above sea level in Mexico City, to crossing multiple time zones between matches - teams will face a unique combination of environmental demands throughout the tournament. The challenge for practitioners will be understanding how these stressors accumulate across the tournament and what that means for preparation, recovery and performance. A really interesting development in US College Sports. The @NCAA have published new recommendations on performance technology, giving schools a road map around policy, data management and responsible use. Whose data is being tracked? Who owns the data? Where is it stored? Who has access to it? How is it being shared? One of the more practical challenges in collegiate sports is managing athlete data across multiple sports, squads, year groups, and disciplines - often across entirely different coaching and medical staff. Over the past decade, TCU have established themselves as one of the more consistent NFL athlete production lines in college football. As a program, they now lead the Big 12 in NFL representation, with over 30 former players in and around league rosters - up from roughly a dozen ten years ago.
