So here's the problem with artists. They make all this great art, everyone knows it SHOULD be in a game. Then you look at video games and the vast majority have totally forgettable art. Where's the disconnect? Well, artists are busy making art for instagram, for clicks, for pay. They don't give a fk about video games, they don't care about a "passion project" where their art goes into something that will be remembered forever, but might not make much money. Artists want that paycheck NOW. That's what they want, all of them to a man. So finding great art like this in a video game is like a once in a generation thing, it just rarely happens. It's too much work and, for them, the juice ain't worth the squeeze. When I meet up with my artist friends irl it's like talking to an accountant, and I'm being for real. To them, the idea that I was a writer who mopped floors and stacked boxes for a living, and then wrote without pay for decades, is just inconceivable, it's unhinged. Sorry for the rant but I have to carry the burden of knowing these things 😭
No AI. I made these with Aseprite and too much of the cheapest coffee I could find
