Two points about "asymmetry". 1. The IDF must be powerful or Israel would not exist. 2. The comparator should not be "the Palestinians" but the combined forces of Hamas, Hezbollah, PIJ, Fatah, Syria, Iran and other enemies. Zoom out and the asymmetry is in the opposite direction.
