Crews from Burnham, Maldon (two) and South Woodham Ferrers are in attendance at a fire affecting three static caravans in Creeksea Lane, Burnham. Thank you to everyone who has called 999 to report the incident. We would like to reassure residents we are on the scene.

Crews are at the scene of a gas leak in Brentwood Road, Heronsgate. A number of properties have been evacuated until Cadent engineers are able to isolate the supply. Please avoid the area if possible as the road is closed and a cordon is in place.

Crews have issued safety advice after a house fire in Basildon today caused by an overloaded socket. The property didn't have working smoke alarms and the occupants escaped through a first floor window because the front and back door were locked. Firefighters rescued 5 dogs.

Crews left the scene of a thatched roof fire in Hatfield Broad Oak today at 4.42am. A crew revisited the site this morning to check for hotspots and the fire remained fully extinguished. An investigation to establish the cause will be carried out today.

Crews tackling a roof fire in Hatfield Broad Oak are continuing to work hard to remove the thatched material and check for hotspots. Six crews remain at the scene and this will continue to be scaled back over the next few hours.

Crews are tackling a thatched roof fire in Hatfield Broad Oak. We were called today at 3.20pm and 10 crews and an aerial ladder platform are at the scene. Station Manager Howard Midwood said: "Firefighters are extinguishing the fire and stripping back the roof."

Firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a silo at 11:35am. Crews then worked throughout the afternoon to dismantle the silo and monitor hotspots inside. An fire investigation was carried out this afternoon and found the fire was caused accidentally.
