It’s been weighing heavy on me lately how we treat our elderly, the ones who raised us, sacrificed for us, and now just want a little dignity in their later years. Too many are slipping through the cracks, left to fight battles they never should have had to fight alone.
@WarlordDilley father-in-law is one of them. He served in Vietnam, came home carrying wounds you can’t always see, and has spent decades battling the devastating effects of Agent Orange. Getting any real help has been an absolute nightmare with the paperwork, the denials, and the endless runaround. These men gave everything when their country called. And now, when they need us most, it feels like the system just looks the other way.
We owe them better.
We owe all our aging parents, grandparents, and in-laws better. Not just words on a holiday, but real care, real support, and the simple decency of not making them beg for it.
This video hit me right in the chest. It’s a reminder that when people actually show up for someone who’s been struggling and trying to stay strong, it can change everything. We can do better. We should do better.
Take a minute and watch. ♥️
