When a child is in a dysregulated state they are not choosing to have a meltdown,they are struggling to communicate how they feel.Our task is to help them regulate 1st,then validate, bring the cortex back online. Using words is ineffective when lower brain parts are disrupted🧠🌱

I’ve been saying “let them” for years in therapy, helping clients let go of trying to control others’ / let go of others’ opinions of them. Didn’t know was coined, and sadly, I did not publish a book on it. My bad.
However, I am quite enjoying @melrobbins book.
