Ultimately it's impossible for overwhelmed staff, in an overwhelmed system, to keep all patients safe.
Hospitals are open 24 hours a day to meet the needs of the population and staff will strive to do their 100% best.
But we must recognise tragedy will almost certainly occur.

Resus NURSES are the best potential source of continuity & consistency of how resuscitation is provided in the ED
Invest in them & they become dependable guarantors of quality, safety & excellence
But only if supported & empowered by the medical leadership
