Jefferson County is under a Level 3/4 Excessive Rainfall Risk Thursday into Thursday night. Rainfall up to 2-3” may cause localized flooding. Turn Around, Don’t Drown. A Level 1/5 severe risk is also in place with 60 mph winds and a brief isolated tornados possible.

Showers and thunderstorms will move through the state again today and early tonight, with the greatest chances across the northern half of the area. Highs today will be in the upper 80s to lower 90s, and lows tonight will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s.

Radar sweeps late this afternoon showed a few showers and storms that had popped up across central Alabama. Those are expected to diminish this evening, leaving clear to partly cloudy skies through the rest of tonight. Dry and hot weather is forecast for Tuesday.
