Shanita is a single mother of a young daughter. She works hard and she loves her family very much, especially her incarcerated Mother who is currently serving a life sentence without parole. Her mom, a very loving and compassionate woman, has a motion for a reduced sentence being reviewed by the District Attorney. Shanita has had to endure the pain of not being raised by her mom and in turn, she has had to endure visiting her mom in prison since the age of 4 years old. In December of 1991 her father’s life was cut short and the pain of not being raised by either parent is something some of us cannot imagine. Hello All,
My name is Bree (Electrical Engineering major) and my sister Jada (Business Management) and I are supposed to be moving into our University (Umass Lowell) by September 1st. We had hoped, due to the pandemic that there would have online and or virtual options but, all of our courses are slated to be in person therefore, we will have to live near our campus. My sister Jada is immunocompromised and I lost my part time job during the height of the pandemic, therefore it has been difficult for us both. We are both first generation college students, and our current living situation is turbulent to say in the least due to our parents bitter divorce. It would be an honor and a privilege to receive monetary help for our first few moths of rent.
