Why will no one in a position of power address a very serious issue of child safeguarding? empowrconnect.substack.com/p… @wrdsb @WRDSBdirector @CrisBairosFern @HorsmanGeoff

"I know [that you are my constituent]. And I'm STILL not talking to you." A parent exchange with trustee Woodcock exemplifies the entitled progressive approach to municipal governance.

We voluntarily pick up our kids because the staff voluntarily asks us to. Say no to unlawful legislation. @EM_POWR
🧵1. The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is not enforcing public health suspensions ordered under the Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA)—probably because they know they can’t.

SCHOOLS AREN'T ENFORCING ISPA SUSPENSIONS: The WRDSB won't—probably because it can't—suspend students on behalf of Public Health. Read about it in our latest substack (link in reply).

👀The government counts on we, the people to back down. 🕯️Don't ever forget how powerful it is to *not* comply with anything against your good conscience. Looks like they're losing some steam. @EM_POWR
I've arrived at a newly formulated belief: any of the following actions would amount to agreeing with legislation that I, in good conscience, deem unlawful: 1.    Submit proof of immunisation 2.    Submit an exemption 3.    Do nothing (as I would be agreeing through acquiescence). I refuse to comply with legislation that my conscience deems unlawful, regardless of whether I opt for vaccinations for my children or not. It's essential to recognize that not all legislation is inherently lawful, and not everything deemed unlawful is illegal. Let's reflect on how we contribute to the prevalence of unlawful legislation in our systems today. This impacts not only our interactions with one another and the experiences for our children but also encroaches upon our freedom of conscience and our free will. @EM_POWR

I see absolutely no reason why this information should not be made public as part of each school board's annual disclosure, freely available for all to review. Citizens should NOT pay twice; once to pay for the education system and again to know what they're spending our money on.
Full disclosure: A list of DEI training delivered by the York Region District School Board @YRDSB between 2021 and 2024, as disclosed via FOI 2025-019. This may or may not be an exhaustive list. While most of the sessions were delivered in-house, 28 sessions were delivered by outside consultants for a total cost of $86,110.30. The consultant spending disclosed from this board is on the lower side compared to other boards, however the volume is substantial.

This "Freedom to Read" week, @jowilliams293 outlines how 'decolonizing' means "rooting out dead white men" and focusing on identity over content. Students are being deprived of the best that's been thought and said, and instead subjected to a UN-inflected "political experience".

Because progressive education is future-oriented towards a utopian society, basic skills like reading are left to parents while teachers encroach on the parental role of imparting values. Thank you Joanna for your thoughtful insights.

Public schools present our children with unquestionable sacred truths. We can equip our kids to be braver, to test the waters. And help teachers appreciate that we want to raise critical thinkers. Thank you Sasha for this wonderful conversation.

When parent of Waterloo Region, @FatherTodor asked Ontario’s Ministry of Education whether schools were steering children toward medical gender transitions, officials didn’t investigate his claims, but instead discussed how to make him go away. @EM_POWR
