Today is World Blood Donor Day, which honors the millions of people whose blood donations help save lives all over the world. These donors are critical to ensuring patients in need of transfusions have access to a reliable supply of safe blood in and beyond the emergency department. This year, through its “One Drop of Humanity” campaign, the World Health Organization is working to drive sustained growth in regular, voluntary blood donations worldwide.
