Dolphins at North Shields this morning. There were two groups who came right into the bay and between the piers. A sailing boat came out and they swam beside it out to sea. Not a great video but it was magical to watch.

The Tyne at North Shields was beautiful this morning- sunny, breezy, shimmery. Two pods of dolphins right in the mouth of the river, geese swimming in the bay. It was such a pleasure to be there. (Dolphin video to follow at some point.)

Look what’s been built in Cardiff for swifts. My niece sent me these photos and said the structure was alive with birds. Heartening to see. It’s shaped like a swift in flight I think. Other towns have created similar swift nest sites including Exeter. Thank you for caring.

90% of the soldiers on the first boats to hit the beach didn't live to see the end of the day. Look at those faces. Some of them never made it to 18. Never forget that they paid the ultimate price for our freedom. We live our lives the way we do because of them.

Did you ever think you'd live to see the day where a WOMAN leading the largest Union in the UK with the largest number of women members would argue against women's right to single sex spaces in the workplace? No me neither. Find a better union ladies. Also the guidance doesn't cover workplaces, it's not even relevant, that's covered by separate legislation. Absolute clowns.
📢 "Your voice is needed." UNISON general secretary @AndreaEganGS is calling on members and trans allies to oppose the EHRC guidance. MPs will decide on it in the next 30 days. Tell us why it's unworkable in your workplace. 📩 out@unison.co.uk

Virtually all the exits to Britain's motorway service stations look this. What's wrong with us in this country? No other west European countries are as run-down, filthy and littered as Britain... we need to turn the tide of decline. Pride and respect should never go out of fashion.
