Two day ago, the ONCA Conference concluded in Paris under the theme "From Awareness to Access", bringing together stakeholders committed to improving patient care through better nutrition. Together with EHNA, ESPEN reinforced the need to turn awareness into action and ensure access to nutritional care for all patients, supported by a strong message from the French Ministry of Health. We warmly invite interested healthcare professionals and ESPEN members to apply for this educational event, which will take place in Zagreb, Croatia, on September 21–22, 2026. We can accept only 20 applicants for this workshop. Registration will take place on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority will be given to ESPEN members. In your application, please indicate whether you are a member or not. Please also provide a short overview of your background and motivation to attend this workshop. The course will be held in Zagreb, Croatia, at the University Hospital Centre Zagreb. ESPEN will cover most of the costs: meals, education, social programme, materials, and certificate. The cost of travel and accommodation should be covered by the participant. Please note that travel and hotels are not covered by ESPEN and are at your own expense. New ESPEN-Endorsed Recommendation Published We are pleased to share a new open access ESPEN-endorsed recommendation published in Clinical Nutrition: “Sarcopenic obesity: Call to action and nutritional agenda from the international clinical nutrition community” Sarcopenic obesity, defined as obesity with low skeletal muscle function and mass, is increasingly recognized as an important clinical nutrition priority. This international statement highlights the need for coordinated action in research, education and clinical practice, with a strong focus on diagnosis, prevention, nutritional care and multimodal treatment approaches. The publication also emphasizes the key role of nutrition and exercise in reducing the burden of sarcopenic obesity and improving outcomes for people living with obesity worldwide.
