Protecting our kids online starts now. That's why, through the new Safe Social Media Act, our government is taking real action to better protect young people in Honoré-Mercier and across Canada.

Finally! As a dad of two young daughters, and after listening to many parents concern, I’m proud that the Safe Social Media Act will better protect our children from online harms. We are protecting families.
Today, our government introduced new legislation to protect our kids online. Canada's Safe Social Media Act will hold social media and AI platforms accountable, make them safer, and restrict access to social media for children under 16. More and more kids are suffering from anxiety, depression, self-harm, and exploitation. To keep our kids safe, we have to ensure that our laws keep up with technology.
Community note
Similar laws elsewhere (e.g., Australia’s attempts) have shown the same issue: age-gating often leads to ID/biometric collection for everyone. childrenofthestreet.com and ultimately a major privacy issu

Poilievre once said that we need to build large train projects to unite Canada. But now he wants to cancel Alto. Liberals are building. While conservatives are derailing.

The United States has a higher GDP than Canada, but the average Canadian is better off. As we grow wealth through new major projects and new trade agreements, let's continue to make sure we all benefit.

Absolutely disgusting anti-trans behaviour by @vincentneilho during #pridemonth - deliberately generating hatred, division and bigotry. And he's proud of himself. This is @PierrePoilievre's @CPC_HQ

Incredibly disappointed today to see Conservative MPs vote against Bill C-16, which will strengthen the Criminal Code by: -Making femicide a first-degree murder charge; -Creating a new offence of coercive control; -Making it mandatory for social media companies to report child sexual abuse and exploitative materials; and, -Increasing penalties for child predators and restoring more than 12 mandatory minimum penalties. Combatting crime, bringing criminals to justice and supporting victims are non partisan issues.

And @PierrePoilievre sporting kettlebells in all of his videos isn’t cringe?
I find it a bit cringe when Carney wears his Order of Canada medal around his neck in public like this, like he just finished winning second place at the blueberry pie bake-off.
