On Saturday, Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers shot and killed a family dog named Jameson in Canoga Park after mistaking a woman's celebratory screams for a New York Knicks victory as a sign of distress. A resident in the 7500 block of Jordan Avenue was loudly celebrating the New York Knicks' NBA championship win. A neighbor mistook her joyous screams for danger and called 911.The Victim: Jameson, a 2-year-old golden retriever, Saint Bernard, and poodle mix (often described as a Bernedoodle or Goldendoodle). According to the LAPD statement reported by the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, officers arrived at the apartment door and saw the large dog barking. Officers asked the owner to secure the animal.
