They were killed by Russia: Lyudmila Repina, 57 years old, Izium
57-year-old Lyudmila Repina lived in Izium in the notorious five-story building at 2 Peremohy Avenue. This building was shelled by Russians on March 9 and subjected to airstrikes. About 50 people were killed under the rubble. Among the victims were Lyudmila, her husband, son, and mother.
Lyudmila worked in the education department and was an engineer by education. She studied at the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute. While still a student, she met her husband, Yuriy. For many friends and acquaintances, the Repina couple were an example of family relations. Yuriy would pick up Lyudmila from work, and they would walk around the city holding hands, always together.
Lyudmila was remembered as a good housewife. She often treated her colleagues in the education department with her pies. The woman cared about a healthy lifestyle and regularly exercised. She enjoyed music, loved to read, and grew flowers at her dacha. She dreamed of grandchildren and renovating her own home.
"Lyudmila always came to help. Friends and colleagues knew they could count on her. She would give the last of what she had to help others," - recalls colleague Marina Shevlyakova.
"Her death is a tragedy for everyone who worked with her," - adds another colleague of the deceased, Tatyana Gutsalenko.
Lyudmila Repina is survived by her cousins and a nephew.
