Phantomlaser is still shackled to a job he doesn't want while acting as a tool, but it's also far more relaxed and he has no worries about princess being abandoned/dying. His friendships/mortal connections however are effectively severed. Katana refuses to speak to him due to his connection to the sword(s), and no one even recognizes him. He's essentially stuck as an immortal that would rather just rest with a boss that doesn't fully understand why he's upset in the first place. Despite giving him a shady deal, he TECHNICALLY did not lie, he just never fully disclosed anything seeing no reason to do so. Another side effect is that he's slowly forgetting all of his mortal memories. While he already had memory loss prior to this (yes, in canon), this is essentially stripping him of anything that made him HIMSELF and turning him into a blank slate.
