Hi @AldiUK ! I charged my electric car at one of your stores last week (paying for the electricity), today I received a £70 parking fine! A little harsh I thought, can you help with some of the usual great Aldi service?
Hi @fireangelsafety I bought this smoke alarm last summer (along with 3 others). This one has just complained about a flat battery, the third since it was installed. The other three are fine. Any ideas?
@StarshipRobots saw one of your little guys this morning on my way to the train station. Strangely parked across the path. He was still there six hours later when I got back from London. 🤔 Can you check he's OK?
Interesting modelling of a 100% renewable energy grid in the US, looks like it will actually work, provide jobs, clean up the air and be cost neutral. Excellent! :) pv-magazine.com/2021/12/08/g…
I've just been down to London which is usually a crazy place to drive around, but today it's insane. Every road near a petrol station is gridlocked with cars. Except the Shell station on Kilburn High Road, where I charged my Leaf. It was shut as they'd run out of petrol. Result!
Apparently I could buy a 3MW Enercon E82 wind turbine for £2.33 million fully installed. Cool. Hinkley Point C is going to cost £23 Billion (currently). So for £2.5 Billion, I could buy 1087 E82's to match the output of HPC at 10% of the cost. 1/4
The additional benefit would be lots of overcapacity regularly which could be sunk into grid scale batteries, heat batteries, green hydrogen*, and gravity batteries to provide heat and transport. 4/4
*Don't get me started. Only for industry and maybe heavy transport (large trucks, container ships, maybe buses). Hydrogen Fuel Cells are a waste of energy. Hydrogen home boilers are just ridiculous.
Ionity is the most expensive EV charging network in the UK. Now it's even more expensive if you use your Shell Recharge card. Well done Shell, well done...
Perhaps this is where I should add that you too could charge at home for just 5p/kWh instead with Octopus Energy on their Octopus Go tariff, sign up with this link and get a £50 starter bonus. share.octopus.energy/pure-ku…
So the ban on petrol/diesel cars is set for 2030. Good work. However, a couple of thoughts. 1) Why allow hybrids until 2035? It's well documented that most plug-in's are are never used in electric drive, and that all "self chargers" do not help lower emissions much.
