Kituo participated in a two-day workshop convened by the @FAO and @TMG_think on Land, Rights and Justice: Advancing Human Rights-Based Land Governance. The convening brought together public institutions and CSO actors from Sierra Leone, Malawi, Ethiopia, Uganda, and Tanzania.

According to Ethiopia's justice minister, Hanna Ayaselassie, 40% of disputes in Ethiopia are resolved via TJS and therefore TJS is key to expanding access to justice for rural populations. At 36yrs, Ms Ayaselassie must be the youngest millenial Justice Minister in Africa

This is an extract from a footage that was screened at the ongoing Conference at Makerere commemorating 30 years of the 1995 Constitution. President Museveni gave the speech in 1992 upon receiving the draft of the Constitution from the drafting Commission headed by Benjamin Odoki.
When you have seen what the government of the older Museveni is doing, it becomes quite difficult to listen to the speeches of the younger Museveni without getting disturbed and angry. Except if your conscience is sick or dead.

Glad to have been part of engagement yesterday between the Board and staff of @KituoSheria with @CJMarthaKoome on sustaining our partnership with @Kenyajudiciary and @NCAJ_KE for enhancing access to justice for poor and vulnerable in Kenya #PeopleCenteredJustice
I held a constructive engagement with Kituo cha Sheria, an organisation that has spent over 50 years advancing the rights and dignity of poor and marginalised Kenyans. I commended their enduring commitment to legal empowerment through legal aid, public interest litigation, community mobilisation, ADR, and capacity-building - work that has transformed countless lives.
Our discussions reaffirmed the strong alignment between Kituo cha Sheria’s mission and the Judiciary’s Social Transformation through Access to Justice (STAJ) Blueprint, particularly on people-centred justice and strengthening community-based pathways to justice.
