The art of abstraction - in the making!
We forget what a large shift in abstraction is required to go from a 3D object to a scratch on a page. How many millennia did it take our ancestors? And yet, we sometimes rush our 5 year-olds to "just draw circles."

I find the “trace around the object” strategy for making sure your recording matches your collection so smart. Sure, it’s labor intensive & eventually kids move away from it, but it’s such lovely idea for keeping track of lots of things at once for young learners. @Erica__Beckett

whenever i'm having a bad day i remember that children practice reading books to shelter dogs to help comfort them and reduce their anxiety therefore increasing their chances to get adopted down the line
