Saturday is my 30th birthday. If I could tell my 20-yo self one thing, it would be to invest more in relationships. I spent the first half of my 20s chasing success at the expense of my friendships/partners. Life becomes immeasurably bigger when you have people to share it with.

If you were visiting Jasper from Calgary, it’s now a 12 hour drive to evacuate and get home. If you’re visiting from Edmonton it’s over 14 hours (going through Dawson Creek and Grande Prairie).
I hope everyone evacuating has a safe place to sleep tonight. 🫢

In March 2022 many of us had been warning about it — it was predictable and predicted.
Public Health with the usual (unfounded) bias towards optimism considered it as “the worst case scenario”.
It is achieved now.

Wow. Appendix 3 is the worst-case C19 scenario which corresponds exactly to what this fall and winter looks like. Table A3-1 describes the efforts they'd deploy if it happened. None of that is being followed through. Ppl need to be fired.
