The Soviet Union delivered nearly fifty high-performance MiG-25P interceptors to Libya between 1978 and the early 1980s. This made Libya the second largest operator of this type after the Soviet PVO. This early MiG-25P version was used by the Libyan 1025th and 1035th Squadrons.
