All 26 inside a long distance bus from WC to the EC were unharmed. Their bus hit a head of about 10 cattle on the N2 near Palmietvlei. The cattle were sleeping in the middle of the road.

4 people have died from 2 separate accident on the N2 in the EC last night.
Blue Car: Head on, with a truck on the Kei Cuttings. Drivers of both vehicles perished.
White Car: Single vehicle overturned near Berlin. 2 died, 3 injured.
The Wapadsberg Pass on the R61 between Graaff Reinet & Cradock, closed to traffic with immediate effect due to heavy snowfalls. Officials are monitoring other high laying areas and mountain passes, and similar closures can be expected where deemed necessary. #satraffic
An UNPRECEDENTED high number of pedestrians have died on the EC roads since the start of Lockdown Level 3 on Monday. Pedestrians accounted for 8 of the more than 10 fatalities, as the EC witnessed a spike in road crushes, another UNPRECEDENTED for a Mon and a Tues. #ArriveAlive

MEC Tikana-Gxothiwe has expressed shocked, sadness and deep disappointment at the taxi accident that claimed 15 lives on the N2 near Mt Frere

All 11 occupants of a minibus taxi have died in a head-on collision on the N2 between Mt Frere and Mt Ayliff in the EC. The taxi was traveling from Mt Ayliff to Mt Frere when it collided head-on with a truck.

EC Transport has lost one of its longest serving traffic officers in an accident on the R63, Graaf-Reinet yesterday. Frans Schoeman (29yrs service) was due to retire this years.
He was from a COVID19 deployment at Aberdeen on the border with W. Cape.

EXTENDED PUBLIC TRANSPORT OPERATING HOURS FOR SASSA RECIPIENTS
From 30 March to 3 April, busses and taxis will be allowed 2 operate from 5am until 8pm to cater for their transportation needs. Recipients are required 2 carry their ID & SASSA cards to assist law enforcement efforts
