Part 3 on the history of liberalism and the development of socialism. It’s kind of funny that the early history of liberalism is the history of conquerors and usurpers legitimizing their rule and aristocrats bringing back the “true heir” via law. m.youtube.com/watch?v=5i9Jta…

The lead up to the English Civil War is all about the English kings paying lip service to Anglo Saxon institutions when they wanted to legitimize themselves, until the British bourgeois took them seriously and went to war.

Wait a second. My support of Israel?? Bibi Netanyahu is a monster and a war criminal. I support a two state solution. And I believe what the Israeli government is doing right now is horrific.

The liberal state will not tolerate Indigenous people’s demands to live outside of the framework provided to them by the liberal state. Mexican President Benito Juarez, himself Indigenous, cheerfully signed legislation to abolish tribal land claims and auction off those lands.
Meanwhile indigenous people are being suppressed and attacked outside of the stadiums & Pueblos in the Huasteca are being ethnically cleansed as we speak but Americans will always fall for the propaganda

At the beginning of the Industrial Revolution workers, artisans and skilled craftsmen would secretly destroy factories and machine shops under the cloud of darkness, bc they viewed these new technologies as a threat to their freedom. This is a post about data centers and AI.

It’s so weird to me to see a guy trying to be respected as a journalist publicly call the source who gave him the research work that is building his career “a failed sugar baby.”

I'm seeing comments denying the fact that a more progressive candidate would be more electable because Sanders couldn't win the Democratic primaries. This ignores the facts that Democratic primary rules were changed in the 1980s to try to prevent a progressive from winning, Democrats cheated in 2016 to the point that the DNC Chair was forced to resign when leaked email exposed the cheating, they had to shut down the 2020 primaries & establishment Democrats are now far to the right of the independent voters Democrats need to win elections.

Overthrow the wealthy completely.
If you can’t tax billionaires and trillionaire because “its unrealized gains until they cash out,” then stop letting them leverage that wealth for loans, as collateral, or as equity. If it’s not real enough to tax, it shouldn’t be real enough to leverage. This is why we say the system is rigged in favor of the super wealthy. Abolish billionaires, tax them out of existence, protect working people.

Direct and indirect domination are not a binary a leftist must choose from, where only one can be true. The whole system of indirect domination conceals direct domination.

Fun fact: the New York Nets played all over the state, from Long Island to Albany, in the ABA era and were never an “NYC” team despite having a hometown stadium in Nassau County. Then, when the merger happened, they were hit with a penalty for playing in NYC 1/2
The Nets just erased with history with one swipe of the keyboard 😭😭😭

The penalty was pushed through at the last minute at the insistence of the owner of the Knicks. To pay it, the Nets had to sell their star players (Julius Earving and Billy Paultz) to Philadelphia and San Antonio. 2/2

From @TheAthletic: The Yankees have the Mets. The Giants have the Jets. The Rangers have the Islanders. The Knicks have no rival for New York’s heart, so this championship means so much more to the city. nyti.ms/4av1rR2
