Beetles are the most successful animals on the planet, approximately 25% of animals are beetles!
They spend most of their life as a larva, typically up to 3 years then they develop into an adult which usually only lives for around 3 months!
Carpet pythons have heat pits on their lips (you can see a row of them on the bottom jaw quite clearly here) which they use to detect warm-bodied prey but also to find good spots to thermoregulate, finding cool spots when it's too warm and warmer spots when they need to heat up
