The Reptiles from @EcoExplorersNUI are certainly enjoying the beautiful weather on campus today. Filmed using some helpful tips from @mojofestival, looking forward to MojoFest 2018 here at NUI Galway, 29th-31st May.

Beetles are the most successful animals on the planet, approximately 25% of animals are beetles! They spend most of their life as a larva, typically up to 3 years then they develop into an adult which usually only lives for around 3 months!

Carpet pythons have heat pits on their lips (you can see a row of them on the bottom jaw quite clearly here) which they use to detect warm-bodied prey but also to find good spots to thermoregulate, finding cool spots when it's too warm and warmer spots when they need to heat up

Fantastic documentary screening tomorrow with @HerpSocIreland in @tcddublin on snakebite, highly recommend checking it out if you're around! x.com/HerpSocIreland/status/…

Join us on Tuesday 13th March at 6pm @tcddublin for the screening of ‘Minutes to Die’. This documentary film about the people who live every day with the constant threat from venomous snakes & the scientists who are working relentlessly to develop the best quality antivenoms.

Look at this incredible spider! :D x.com/collieennis/status/878…

Love babysitting @John_Kavanagh 's spider BEAST. As big as a hand in body alone. A creature from prehistory.... Stunning Goliath Birdeater.
