⚾️ Sunday fun at the ballpark! Our Academy students had an amazing time spending Sunday at the game, cheering on the Los Angeles Dodgers, making memories, and enjoying a day filled with laughter, friendship, and community. Experiences like these help create meaningful connections and opportunities for our students to learn, grow, and have fun together.

Yesterday’s Voice Over class was one of those Academy moments we know we’ll remember for a very long time. Between the laughter, creativity, questions, and conversations, the room felt so full of joy and confidence. Thank you, Ellie Kemper, for spending time with our participants and making everyone feel so welcomed, encouraged, and celebrated. We absolutely loved having you at TEAFC 💙🧡

Throwback! Before she became a global superstar, a young fan snapped this photo with our beloved Ed Asner. Can you guess who it is? Hint: she went on to become one of Hollywood’s biggest stars ⭐️ Photo courtesy of Kazemba Adjuba

Happy Earth Day 🌍🌿 Today felt especially meaningful as our Academy participants spent time out in nature, slowing down, observing, and capturing the details that make our environment so special 📸 From light hitting the trees to textures on the ground, it was all about being present with the world around us. We’re now bringing that experience back into the classroom through our collage work using thrifted books 📚♻️ In honor of Earth Day, we’re not only finding inspiration in nature, but also reusing materials to create something new, giving old pages a second life through art. A reminder that creativity and care for our planet can go hand in hand 💛

Spring semester is officially underway at The Academy 🌷✨ We kicked things off with speed friending to welcome our new participants, launched our new job partnership with the Wildlife Learning Center, and jumped right back into core classes like Interview Readiness and Spanish. We wrapped up the week with carrot spice bread in cooking, egg decorating, and some karaoke moments we won’t forget 🎤🥕🥚 And that’s only a glimpse,we’re just getting started. From original songwriting and music production to creative writing and beyond, we can’t wait to see what this semester brings 💫 For more information on the Academy Contact Navah @teafc.org

Today we recognize Autism Acceptance Day, a moment to pause, reflect, and recommit to building a world where every neurodivergent individual is truly seen, valued, and celebrated. At The Ed Asner Family Center, acceptance is at the heart of everything we do. It’s in the confidence our participants build each day, the friendships they form, and the creative voices they discover through art, music, and community. We don’t just talk about inclusion, we live it. That commitment extends to employment and leadership. We actively hire autistic individuals and believe deeply in creating meaningful, supportive job opportunities. Many of our programs are not only designed with neurodivergent voices in mind, they are created and led by autistic individuals whose lived experience shapes everything we offer. Their insight, creativity, and leadership make our community stronger. Autism acceptance means moving beyond awareness and into action. It means creating opportunities, fostering understanding, and embracing the unique strengths that each individual brings to the world. Today, and every day, we celebrate our incredible community, our participants, families, staff, and supporters, who remind us that acceptance isn’t just important, it’s transformative. 💙 Let’s continue to listen, learn, and lead with compassion. #AutismAcceptance #Neurodiversity #InclusionMatters #EdAsnerFamilyCenter

This is what confidence looks like… and it didn’t come easy. It was built over time through the vision of our founder Navah Asner With support, trust, setbacks, breakthroughs, and people who truly see you. Watching our very first Academy graduates step into themselves They know their worth. They feel it. And that changes everything.
