We always strive to be good neigh-bours, but our crews took it to a new level when a horse trailer detached and rolled into a ditch late last week. ππ
Large animal rescues can be unpredictable. We are happy to report that except for one minor cut, all horses are safe. #YEGPets
Recruit Class 160 is hard at work since Friday's graduation!π₯
Today, one of our new firefighters attended their first fire on only their second shift: a trailer fire. Fire crews were on scene within 2 minutes of the call and declared the fire extinguished within 30 minutes. 3/3
Beyond the work of our newest frontline firefighters, Recruit Class 160's emergency communications specialists and fire prevention officers are also providing invaluable support behind the scenes. 2/3
Our 4 new emergency communications specialists are answering your calls for help on each of our platoon shifts, and our 8 new fire prevention officers are working across the city, leading public education and fire safety inspections.

Designed for women and gender-diverse individuals, #CampInspire is a welcoming space to experience the day-to-day work of a firefighter. Participants will have the opportunity to take on controlled training exercises and learn about career pathways directly from our members. 2/3

Fire station open house season kicks off tomorrow in Mill Creek! π
Come on over to Mill Creek Station 6 (8105 96 Street) between noon and 4:00 p.m. this Saturday to get to know Edmontonβs friendly neighbourhood firefighters and fire prevention officers. 1/3
Attendees of all ages will have the chance to learn important fire safety tips from the professionals, explore the fire trucks and firefighting equipment, and even meet the one-and-only Sparky the Fire Dog. 2/3
