Y11 did us proud today - what an incredible bunch of students. Passion for their subject caused a great buzz that carried on all day. Tomorrow, we go again 💪🏻
Really useful to understand the Early Career Framework through the eyes of teachers experiencing it. Clare & Courtney did their teacher training during COVID - so many experiences in year 2 of teaching is still new (exams, enrichment, behaviour etc). #rEDWarr2023@kings_liverpool
✨ Super session with @EducatingAvril exploring leadership and the Kubler Ross change curve. Great to reflect on the importance of planning and communicating change and the needs of individuals within a team ✨#rEDWarr2023#CPD#change#leadership
Today we were working on stepping outside the text… students started to really understand abstract concepts and contextual connections once we started visualising it on the table.
The best part of teaching is seeing the penny drop 🧠
My students are amazing 💪🏻

🚨4 weeks to go until @researchEDWarr! 🚨 Just need to put the finishing touches to my session all about the first year as a HoD. Looking forward to sharing my experiences, mistakes and successes with like minded educators @KingsWoolston in April 🧠
This week has been BUSY. Mocks, Y11 optimisation, and leading a theatre trip has certainly put the team through their paces…but seeing the looks of awe on student faces when they saw a show for the first time is a reminder of why we do it ❤️ grateful for the team @KingsWoolston
Didn’t take enough images but a notepad of ideas after our department showcase, great to see how other departments have implemented the boys don’t try and lost girls training from this half term. 👌🏼 very lucky to work with such a wonderful staff body @avs1289
On cloud 9 after whole school CPD today. Ever dept fed back on strategies discussed and implemented over the past 3 weeks.
Our students are lucky to have such incredible teachers who develop their practice every day with them in mind 💪🏻👏🏻⭐️

Whole school CPD is good.
Time in dept to discuss & implement is better.
Implementation time & a cup of tea is best.
Found this absolute DELIGHT in our Science dept this afternoon as they discussed metacognition & questioning in the classroom.
Our staff are the best 🤓🧠🫖
And that’s a wrap… looking forward to unpacking this mad medley of musings from #Englishhangout with the team in our next faculty meeting. Big thanks to @Xris32 for organising and all the presenters for sharing some fab ideas 🧠📚👏🏻
Enjoying the first #Englishhangout meeting tonight, hearing about different approaches to revision, intervention, diversity in the curriculum and building stamina 🧠
During weekly dept meetings we have ‘faculty finds’, sharing useful bits we’ve seen in the week. Today we had some excellent pedagogical and curriculum based finds, including this absolute GEM from @MrsBallAP shared by @missreardteach and a super useful terminology doc 💪🏻#topteam
New favourite quick win - support for students scribbled on desks with whiteboard pens. Removes cognitive overload, enables 1-1 scaffolding whilst encouraging metacognitive conversations. Students can revisit our conversations and follow my thought process at their own pace 💪🏻
