I’ve watched Love Island USA from the beginning, so I’m comparing this season to previous ones. It was obvious Ace had a lot of influence over who stayed and who went. Jeremiah, for example, had two connections and still got dumped. He also told Islanders to stay loyal to their couples instead of exploring other connections no matter what. For example when Taylor expressed that he was not physically attracted to Olandria, Ace reassured him and said he was dumb and basically needs to stay in that couple.
That’s why I think production let Corbin choose who he wanted to couple up with instead of having the Islanders vote someone out. It also explains why Corbin the only guy that’s got to pick first during the recoupling when it was the girls turn to pick.
