My fantastic LSA takes a weekly class of native Spanish speakers in KS2. I spotted her using @janeconsidine’s non-fiction shapes to design and create non-chronological reports. The Write Stuff is now being used within English, Arabic and MFL lessons in our school. 🙌
I have nothing but fantastic memories of studying Classics at @UoRClassics. I am now a teacher and relish in sharing the classical world with my students who may not otherwise have been afforded the opportunity to explore it. Classics is not just for the elite, but for everyone.
Calling all @UoRClassics alumni. Please let us know what careers you went in to after your Roehampton Classics degree ⬇️ Please tweet, retweet and spread the word 😃
Last week was all about exploring the etymology and morphology of words using Emily Gravett’s ‘Big Book of Fears’ as inspiration. Ideas for lessons taken from a recent webinar by @Suchmo83 where I learnt SO much about the explicit teaching of vocabulary and spelling.

I am so incredibly proud of the poems produced by my class this week inspired by @janeconsidine’s poetry unit using ‘The River’ as a model text. Here are just a handful of my favourites. 🙌 @PoetrySociety
Last week of school only means one thing; Christmas advert writing! Used and adapted planning from @LiteracyShed to create voiceovers for the @sainsburys ‘Christmas Truce’ advert.🎄 Am absolutely blown away by the outcomes. Here is my favourite. 🥰
Another fab idea I saw from @Teacherglitter that I adapted as part of our National Day celebrations. The kids absolutely loved all contributing to a class piece of art and were so engrossed in the story linked to the image.
This week, my class published their diary entries inspired by ‘My Secret War Diary.’ They looked at extracts from a range of other WW2 fiction books to explore what life would have been like for a child during this time. Thanks @MrsBezoari for the fab idea!
Year 6 had an amazing morning virtually meeting the fantastic @LindsayGalvin to talk about writing, dragons, and everything else in between. Never seen them more excited! Connecting with authors is tough in UAE so for them, this was the best day ever and I couldn’t agree more. 🐉
In preparation for writing non-chronological reports on animals from Galapagos, we tackled relative clauses using @Teacherglitter’s idea of a folding booklet to show how it can be embedded into a sentence.
This week, the kids loved getting stuck into Shan Tan’s ‘The Viewer’ so much so that they wanted to recreate one of the disks to represent 2021. I’m sensing a common theme! 🦠 @clpe1
