Dear beloved sports-loving Nigerian youths, After watching the performances of Davido, Burna Boy, and Rema at the opening of the 2026 World Cup—at a time when Nigeria, the giant of Africa, is absent—I felt a measure of consolation. This was reinforced by the fact that many Nigerians playing for clubs worldwide are representing other countries. Felix Nmecha, for instance, set a record by scoring the fastest goal at six minutes for Germany. I write to you therefore, knowing that this country belongs to you, the youth. You are more of stakeholders in Nigeria’s future than I am. I am 64 years old; by God’s grace, much of my journey is behind me, while yours lies ahead. It is therefore imperative that you rise to the challenge by obtaining your PVC, your most powerful tool for driving the change you desire. In the last three years alone, over 15 million Nigerians have turned 18—enough to decide who becomes President, Governor, Senator, Member of the House, or Local Government Chairman. Indeed, enough to shape the nation’s future. I know many of you are sceptical about politics and political parties. I understand why, but scepticism must not become surrender. You do not need to belong to any party or wait for anyone to organise you. Organise yourselves in your streets, campuses, communities, workplaces, churches, mosques, and social groups. Mobilise, debate, demand accountability, and take part in choosing those you wish to entrust with leadership. If you are organised and wish to hear directly from me, invite me. I will come and share my plans for you and our nation. Do not sit on the sidelines while others decide your future. I appeal to you to register and vote. Your vote can shape who becomes the next President of our country. My young friends, this is your country. Take it back. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Today, I’m releasing never before seen intelligence revealing new evidence of past US government funding for more than 120 biolabs in over 30 countries, including Ukraine. In support of President Trump‘s Executive Order to end federal funding of dangerous gain of function research around the world, and increase transparency and accountability, ODNI will continue working with partners across the Administration to identify where these labs are, what pathogens they contain, and what “research” is being conducted. odni.gov/index.php/newsroom/…

We are banning social media access for under 16s. These days kids must find their feet in a world where technology intrudes into every area of their life. I just can’t let that go on anymore. So we’re giving children their childhoods back.

1. Bakkassi boys were only in existence b/w 1999 to 2002 under Mbadinugu era not under Obi Era. 🤦🏽 2. The demolitions of buildings of criminals was actually signed, passed & carried out by Obi not Obiano. 🤦🏾‍♂️ If Oshiomole does not know “basic history”, how is he a Senator?

This reminds me of what Germany did to Brazil in 2014. Terrible World Cup debut for the tiny Caribbean nation. Apparently, the Curaçaon team may need to be reabsorbed into the Dutch national team until they are strong enough to be a separate team.

How many more generals must die before you tame this festering disease? The Nigerian Army has become a thing of ridicule under the APC administration, and it appears there's still no respite in sight for Nigerians. For how long will these terrorists have superior intelligence?
PRESS RELEASE DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS MOURNS THE PASSING OF RETIRED MAJOR GENERAL RABE ABUBAKAR, REAFFIRMS RESOLVE TO ERADICATE TERRORISM The Defence Headquarters regrets to announce the passing of Major General Rabe Abubakar (Retired), who tragically lost his life in captivity following his abduction. The Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) convey its deepest sympathies to the Abubakar family, his colleagues and all Nigerians. Maj Gen Abubakar served the nation with distinction and held many appointments including spokesperson of various military formations as well as spokesman for the AFN as Director Defence Information. He made immense contributions to counter-insurgency operations, professional development of the AFN and numerous other commendable and outstanding impacts. His commitment to duty and to the unity of Nigeria remains a shining example for all personnel of the AFN. The Defence Headquarters withheld public comment on his abduction in deference to ongoing rescue efforts by the AFN and sister security agencies. Every operational resource was deployed in the hope of securing his safe return. This sad loss further strengthens the resolve of the AFN. We will remain resolute in the discharge of our constitutional mandate to defend the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Nigeria and to protect all citizens. In response to series of unfortunate abductions across Nigeria including that of Maj Gen Abubakar, ongoing operations have since been further intensified to bring perpetrators to justice and to dismantle all terrorist networks threatening our nation. We assure Nigerians that the Armed Forces will not relent until peace and security are restored and those responsible for terrorists activities across the nation are held to account. SAMAILA UBA Major General Director Defence Information 13 June 2026

In 2012, when I started farming in Kuje Area Council-Abuja, cashew trees were everywhere. Many local landowners planted them as economic trees—not necessarily for commercial production, but because they increased the perceived value of their land. By 2013, the cashew industry had become a thriving rural economy. During harvest season, heavy-duty trucks lined up at Tipper Garage Junction in Kuje, buying cashew kernels for Nuts processing. Farmers earned and the entire communities benefited from the value chain. The boom continued through 2014, 2015, and 2016. Then greed quietly replaced sustainability. Instead of allowing the fruits to mature naturally, many people began harvesting prematurely to extract kernels early. The result was predictable: immature kernels flooded the market, quality dropped, and buyers began rejecting consignments. By 2018, something even more alarming happened. Many of the cashew trees simply refused to fruit. In 2019 and 2020, some produced while others remained barren. By 2021, large numbers of trees appeared diseased and failed to fruit. Today, the trucks are gone. The once-thriving cashew economy has largely disappeared. The trees remain, but many no longer produce. What is most disturbing is that nobody seems to know why. Nigeria has numerous institutions with mandates that should cover issues like this: • Seed Council of Nigeria • Forestry Departments and Agencies • Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development • Research Institutes and Extension Services Yet there appears to be little or no publicly available data explaining what happened to the Kuje cashew ecosystem. A nation that does not invest in research is condemned to repeat its mistakes. We spend billions discussing agriculture, but when an entire economic ecosystem collapses, nobody can explain the cause, measure the impact, or propose a recovery strategy. Agriculture is not sustained by speeches and conferences. It is sustained by data, research, and institutional memory. Until we take research seriously, we will continue harvesting from nature without understanding the consequences—and acting surprised when nature stops giving back.
Have a sweet and blessed weekend

So far we’ve received 2k, please don’t give on Lauretta, she can win cancer 🤲🏾🤲🏾🥹
My 22year old sister just completed her 6th round of chemotherapy last week, and next week she’ll be going in for another session. Every two weeks, she’s forced to endure the pain, side effects, hospital visits, and still somehow stay hopeful that one day she’ll finally be cancer free. So far, we’ve raised ₦4.5M and we’re deeply grateful to everyone who has supported, donated, reposted, and prayed for her. But we still need ₦5.5M to keep her treatment going. Lauretta doesn’t deserve to be going through this at her age. Please help us save my sister. Every donation gives her another round of treatment, another chance to survive. We’re holding onto hope with everything we have. Please keep sharing her story and donating. Donation link is in my bio For direct transfer 0247265533 GTB: Duke, Margaret Nothing is small, every penny counts.

BREAKING: Elon Musk has become the world's first trillionaire. After SpaceX raised a record $75 billion in its IPO, Musk’s net worth shot up to top $1.1 trillion when the stock began trading Friday, putting him in an economic class of his own. Combined with his holdings in electric vehicle maker Tesla, as well as other investments and assets, Musk's net worth is now estimated at about $1.1 trillion. Musk's stake in the rocket and satellite company alone is now estimated at a staggering $690 billion, but it's also a life-changing moment for thousands of workers at the company who hold equity. Investors who watched Musk help turn Tesla into an automotive giant are now betting he can do the same in space and artificial intelligence, as SpaceX launches the largest IPO in history.
