One of our many favourite photos from @BarnsArchives When Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage took up residency and spent time in Barnsley Archives . He was particularly interested in the natural history stories connected to Eldon Street, including the work of the @barnsley_nats
ALT A flock of sheep being herded down a city street past shops. A man in a coat walks behind the sheep. A vintage car is parked on the left. Buildings and billboards are visible in the background. The scene is in black and white.
The #ExploreYourArchive theme today is #Mythology which was a big influence for Simon Armitage during his residency with us. He spent time in @BarnsArchives which inspired several pieces of work including an album with his band LYR and "Hebrew Character" a poem on a phone box!
