@AshwiniVaishnaw, 𝐇𝐨𝐧’𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐓, marking a major boost to India’s deep manufacturing ambitions. Shri
@JitinPrasada, Hon’ble Minister of State for Electronics and IT; Shri S Krishnan, (
@SecretaryMEITY); Shri Sushil Pal, Joint Secretary, MeitY; and senior officials from the ministry graced the occasion, reaffirming the government’s strong commitment towards the sector.
With today’s announcement, the total number of approved ECMS projects has risen to 24, representing a decisive stride in expanding India’s component and sub-assembly base. The newly approved projects, spanning camera modules, multilayer PCBs, enclosures, connectors, oscillators and optical transceivers, are spread across nine states, with an anticipated investment of INR 7,127 crore and over 11,800 direct jobs in the pipeline.
ECMS continues to accelerate India’s capability-building across the electronics value chain. By maintaining a horizontal, sector-agnostic design, the scheme empowers growth across mobile, IT hardware, wearables, industrial and auto electronics, and emerging digital product categories. The enthusiastic participation of domestic and global companies is driving higher value addition, stronger MSME integration, and deeper alignment with global value chains.
As underscored by the Hon’ble Ministers during the event, India is rapidly building the scale, quality systems, design strength, and Swadeshi supply chains required to compete at a global level. The second tranche of approvals reinforces the government’s clear strategic direction and the industry’s readiness to execute with precision and speed.
ICEA remains steadfast in its commitment to partnering with MeitY and all stakeholders, ensuring that ECMS evolves into the backbone of India’s march toward a USD 500 billion electronics manufacturing ecosystem by 2030–31, positioning the nation as a trusted and competitive global electronics leader.
